美国老爷车：1900年以前的美国汽车

世界第一辆汽车的发明荣誉归于汽油发动机的发明人卡尔.弗里德里希.本茨。
他在1885年发明了世界第一辆能实际应用的内燃机动力的三轮汽车，并与次年(1886年1月29日)获得了 “用汽油作为燃料的车子”的专利权。
7月份，本茨开始使用戴姆勒发动机生产销售“本茨专利汽车”，成为世界第一个出售汽车的人。
大西洋彼岸的美国，研究动力汽车的活动也很早就开始了，研究者们对汽车动力的选择各不相同，有用蒸汽机的，有用煤油内燃机，当然也有用汽油内燃机的。
下面就简单介绍一下1900年以前的美国早期动力车辆。这些汽车大多数都是试验车，当时的四轮汽车是没有方向盘的，都是使用转向杆来控制方向。
